Govt announces cost-cutting measures
By MAZWIN NIK ANIS & SIM LEOI LEOI
PUTRAJAYA: Ministers’ and deputy ministers’ entertainment allowances will be slashed and their paid holidays limited to local and Asean destinations in a cost-cutting move that will save the Government RM2bil this year.
Even the Prime Minister and his deputy will not be spared this new ruling, which takes effect on July 1.
The Prime Minister currently enjoys a monthly entertainment allowance of RM18,865 while his deputy gets RM15,015. Other ministers and deputy ministers are given RM12,320 and RM6,000, respectively.
For the paid holidays, Cabinet members will not be allowed to claim for more than a week’s holiday.
Premier Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said these measures “would not be the first and the last; many other announcements will be made by the Government”.
“The savings will be channelled to subsidies for low-income groups,” he said after chairing the first National Inflation Council meeting at his office here on Monday. “We are sensitive to the hardship faced by the people as a result of the recent increase in fuel prices.
“Everybody will have to be thrifty in these difficult times, including the Government. Therefore, we are taking these measures to ensure administrative expenses are spent wisely. We have to show leadership by example.”
Other measures announced are a freeze on new government posts and the purchase of assets like cars, furniture and computers, limiting the number of workshops, seminars and conferences held at hotels, and postponing all renovation works for government offices.
The Prime Minister also ordered that maintenance works of government premises be carried out optimally so as to reduce costs and energy use.
The Government will also cut down on the number of functions like the opening of offices, prize presentations as well as disallow attire specifically made for an event.
“There is no point for a special attire because it’s wasteful. There is no need to wear attire with special logos. Later, you will just hang it up and treat it like a keepsake. It suffices to just wear your name tag,” Abdullah said.
“In line with this, a 10% cut will be imposed on expenses within departments. Much of the cut will involve promotional and campaign activities. However, the real amount has yet to be determined by the Treasury.”
Abdullah added that Treasury would issue a warrant once this amount had been ascertained.
The measures became effective Monday in a circular issued by the Treasury to all agencies and departments.
The freeze on new posts, however, does not cover critical sectors like education, health and enforcement, and those dealing with the delivery of public services and capable of increasing the country’s revenue.
Restructuring of agencies and departments will also be put off, except if this is to reduce workers or which does not involve the creation of new posts.
Official overseas trips will be limited to important international or inter-governmental meetings, with not more than three officers sent, and even then only those directly involved.
Niamah!!! Most of the rakyat worked day and night, paid their taxes and NEVER in their life went on a holiday. This incentive should be abolished with immediate effect. Let’s not forget its the rakyat’s money.
All cost cutting measures should have been done first and the last resort would be the lifting of the fuel subsidy. Simply because if fuel price rises, so are things associated with it, which is almost everything. Why is Mr. Abdullah doing it the other way round? Suka main belakang?
Mr. Abdullah, most of the rakyat including me, have little education. Please enlighten us since you were put in charge of our country, you must be a learned person.
We don’t know why as an oil producing country, we do not enjoy fully subsidized fuel prices. We don’t know where our monies from our road tax, income tax, service tax, excise duty from ‘overpriced’ vehicles, cigarettes and alcohol, assessment and whatever goddamnyouniamah taxes went to.
We don’t know why you bought some submarines, jet fighters and sent a moron to space as a passenger and lied to the whole country that he was an astronaut using tax payers’ monies. We don’t know why we have to pay toll for using highways since we already pay so many goddamnyouniamah taxes. We don’t know why you do not allow the school buses to raise the price of their services when you raised the price of fuel. School buses run on water ar? We also don’t know why others say how you could afford to buy a jet plane, a yacht and a bungalow down under. Are we paying you what they are paying BG Lee?
Really, there are many more things we do not know. Do you mind telling us?
Hands-on Mummy
Would you rather be a Hands-on mother or would you rather leave your baby with a babysitter?
I was at a relative’s last week whom is a babysitter. She had in her care a 4 months old baby boy. That baby boy was left in her care because his daddy had to work and his mother couldn’t manage him alone. How could a mother not be able to take care of her own child? Isn’t it a natural instinct kind of thing?
I became a father almost 6 months ago. At first I didn’t know anything. Through the months, I learned to change the diaper, bottle feed, change clothes, etc. It was done and learned all out of love.
Back to this baby boy. His daddy will drop him off at the babysitter at 8 am. He is not cleaned. He is still wearing the same set of clothes the day before, before he left for home from the babysitter’s. Without fail, his diaper will be full of shit when the babysitter bathes him at 9 am. Probably he is in the same diaper the day before. He has this rash all over his body especially at the neck and groin area. The babysitter said that it is probably because he was not cleaned when he is home at night. His father will pick him up at 7pm without fail everyday. He also spends the day at the babysitter even though his parents are at home.
I pity the baby boy. How could a parent do such a thing. How can a parent neglect his/her own child? It seems the baby boy was not even breast fed a single time.
My wife decided to become a full time mother and quit her job when our baby arrived. She has been breast feeding since day one. I miss my baby when I am at work and have now decided to work from home instead. We just want to be close to our baby. Its a feeling which words cannot describe.
Woi! If YOU are reading this, be more responsible lah. If a baby is ever a burden to YOU. Put on a condom next time lah. Apparently, they had a shot-gun wedding.
You gotta be kidding me

Proposal to prosecute non-Muslims for khalwat
By IZATUN SHARI
KUALA LUMPUR: A seminar on Syariah Law review wants non-Muslims found committing khalwat (close proximity) with Muslims to also be held liable.
This was among the proposals made at the two-day seminar organised by the Islamic Institute of Understanding Malaysia (Ikim) and the Syariah Judiciary Department Malaysia.
Syariah Court of Appeal Judge Datuk Mohd Asri Abdullah said the seminar had proposed that non-Muslims committing khalwat with Muslims should also be sentenced accordingly, but in the civil courts.
“We don’t have the jurisdiction to sentence non-Muslims committing khalwat with Muslims,” he told reporters after closing the seminar on behalf of department director-general Datuk Ibrahim Lembut at Ikim here today.
“The Muslims can be sentenced in Syariah courts, and the non-Muslim partners can probably be sentenced in the civil courts, to be fair to both parties.”
He said the proposal, contained in a draft resolution at the seminar, would be forwarded to the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
“It is up to the Attorney-General’s Chambers or the relevant authorities to decide how to create such a law,” he said.
However, he declined to elaborate when the proposal would be forwarded to the Government.
Another proposal is to impose heftier penalties – of up to four times the current penalties – on Muslims caught for khalwat, prostitution, consuming alcohol and involvement in gambling activities.
Mohd Asri said Ikim and the department were proposing that the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 (Amendment) 1984 be amended to impose stiffer penalties of RM1,000 fine, or five years’ jail or 12 strokes of the rotan for Syariah Lower Courts and RM20,000 fine, or 10 years’ jail or 24 strokes of rotan for Syariah High Courts.
Current limits are a maximum of three years’ jail, or RM5,000 fine, or up to six lashes or any combination of these, and different states provide different penalties for these offences.
“This has not been reviewed since 1984. It has been more than 20 years,” said Mohd Asri.
There was also a proposal for Syariah judges to enforce whipping for these offences.
Another proposal calls for the establishment of a rehabilitation centre for those convicted of offences related to morals and faith such as prostitution and effeminate men, and enforcement of Section 54 of the Syariah Criminal Offences Act (Act 559) to set up such centres.
The seminar also agreed to a suggestion that a new provision be created for apostates.
You cannot clap with one hand. Sex without consent is known as rape. How can you imply your religious laws on others? Do you think you owned everyone?
There is this saying in Chinese; You should guard the Eagle and not the chicks. (something like that lah) Meaning educate your own people rather finding fault with others. Since this is a religious law, your people should be religious enough to understand what is Khalwat and the consequences.
Khalwat is happening everyday, everywhere lah. Young girls are being BANGED and young boys are BANGING lah. Its actually up to the individual and not the religion or their laws. Educate your people, guide them. If you can.
Sore loser racist
The election is over. The rakyat has chosen. I also don’t wanna write about all these political issues but this clown, the Cheap Minister of Melaka quoted this on NST online.
MALACCA, Sat:
Supporting the call by Umno Penang for all BN mega projects in Penang be stopped, Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam put the blame on voters who decided that they did not want the major projects by voting in for the opposition.
“We have to stop all major projects to Penang as this is what the people wanted. If we continue with the project it would be almost impossible for us to regain control of the State in the next General Elections,” the Malacca Chief Minister said.
“If we stop all major projects, the people would realise what they had lost and would then come back to the BN. This is the only way we could recapture the State in the future from the opposition,” he told reporters after visiting the Menara Taming Sari project near Dataran Pahlawan along Jalan Merdeka, here, today.
The proposed Penang mega projects include those planned under the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER), the second Penang Bridge, the light monorail transit system, the Penang Outer Ring Road, the Penang Sentral and the RapidPenang bus service.
“The people in Penang have clearly rejected development and they want a change,” he said.
In the March 8 polls, Umno only won two parliamentary seats and 12 state seats in Penang.
“put the blame on voters who decided that they did not want the major projects by voting in for the opposition.”???!!!???
Woi! You think UMNO owns the country ar? Your father owns the country ar? Is this a farking threat???!!! You are creating racial tension by saying this. You farking racist!!!
Please lah, think properly when you asslickers start barking lah. The rakyat voted the opposition because you people sucked. What the fark has it gotta do with not wanting development or major projects to bring the country/state to another level??!!
Sometimes you people make me wonder how the fark you all ended being politicians??? Just because BN retained Melaka, you are barking louder. Continue barking lah and you might just be the minority/opposition party in the next election.
Don’t you people farking learn from your stupid mistakes??? Why don’t you just get on managing the our country for us and bark less.
OK. Post elections rants are done. Normal posting will resume. That is if I post lah. Bwahahaha!!!

And?
There I was having my breakfast of pork ball noodles in my favourite restaurant near where I live. Suddenly there was a crowd that came into the restaurant and made a lot of noise. Patrons standing up and greeting someone lah.
Me being me, can’t be bothered when I am having a meal. You know like when you are pestered by those DaMaiCai lottery ticket vendors, DVD vendors or those fake monks and nuns? I didn’t even bothered to look up and just waved my chopsticks asking them to go away.
Suddenly there was silence. I look up and saw a group of BN campaigners with the MP candidate staring down at me. Me being me again, looked down at my bowl of pork balls noodles and continued eating again. The were ‘hanged’ standing there like a PC without sufficient RAMs and moved on when their RAMs recovered.
Niamah lu! 4 years plus you didn’t even had a Teh Tarik at the shop and now you want to go around showing your face fishing for votes???
We want someone to represent us, stand up for us, to understand our problems and to solve them. Not get elected, get richer, enjoy all the luxury and neglect us.
We don’t need you to officiate an event, we don’t need you for an opening ceremony, we just want you do what is best for us, the Rakyat, the ones that voted for you. We chose you, we hired you, you work for us. When you see us, you bow to us. We pay your salary. It is as simple as that. Yes it is.
Next time, don’t bother me again when I am having a meal.
No! Cannot!
- BERSIH march - NO!
- Hindraf march - NO!
- BERSIH at Parliament - NO!
- Human Rights Day march - NO!
MAYBAN - YES! Almost every lunch hour working day nationwide.
WHY?!!? FARK! NIAMAH!!!
Why you so like that!!??
Why do Malaysian drivers like to cross the traffic light intersection knowing the other side is jammed up and stop in the ‘yellow box’!!??
I was driving to a certain destination and the above happened at one of the many traffic light intersections. They was this malay dude in his RM25k Proton Iswara blocking traffic because he was stuck in the middle of the ‘yellow box’. So everyone on the same path as me had to squeeze into ONE lane to cross the intersection. Many were ‘tulan’ with this dude and started blaring their horns.
But guess what? This malay dude was staring straight in front but had his middle finger up. WTF!!! Sudah salah, insaflah.
Well, prolly he thinks the world owes him a living. Thats the mentality of these dudes. MALAYsia mah. MALAYsia boleh!! Not.
Keep it up dude!!! Hope that will be the only car you can afford to own in your lifetime.
Credit cards sales personnels and beggars
When credit card sales personnel wants you to sign up for a card, they promise you heaven and earth, free membership, free fucks gifts and rebates. Those parasites will drag you by the sleeves sometimes and are even worse than beggars. They beg you to sign up as though you don’t need to repay the sum of money you swipe with the credit cards. Free membership lah, not free credit card. Niamah!
These beggars get between RM20 to RM100 depending of which type of cards they manage to con you to sign up for. They stand around in a shopping mall sometimes for 10 hours a day. The only qualification you need is a pathetic face and the ability to beg. Most school leavers will be lured into the job because the banks tell them they can make a gross five figure income. Its true but that would be one in every thousand I assume.
Do you actually know these beggars have to pay upfront rental for a space in the shopping mall with their own money? Only the major events/launching in shopping malls concourses are paid by the banks. So its like renting a space not knowing whether your commissions will even cover for your rental. Oh, and they only get their commission if the applications are SUCCESSFUL. They do not get paid for rejected applications.
Now we come to the salary part. When the banks pay their commission, they get for example RM8,000.00 gross. This in Malaysia, is subjected to tax, income tax. I am no accountant but I guess you have to pay quite a hefty amount. After deducting taxes, you will have to deduct the money you pay for the rental space at the shopping mall (which is not cheap). At the end of all deductions (meals, fuels, parking), probably you get to take home RM2,000.00. That is if you farking get RM8,000.00 in commission. RM8,000.00 is about 160 SUCCESSFUL applications basing on RM50 you get per application. If you work everyday, 10 hours a day, 30 days a month, you need an average of 5 a day. You don’t have a life then.
Most of them will never achieve this figure. Even if they do, they won’t be able to maintain this for the following months. How many of you actually sign up with them when you see them at shopping malls? I don’t. I hate them! And when they realise they have been conned working, they leave. They go for an interview, employers asks about their experience, they then realise they have NONE. Begging is not considered experience.
So, Terence here is doing you a favour by pointing you to the right career path. If you ever want to be a credit card Sales Personnel, DON’T! Its better to be a beggar, you make more money at a pasar malam and the working hours are definitely shorter, no income tax and no need to pay for space rental.
And for people like me, we don’t need to apply, we are invited. Thank you.
Of bumper stickers and morons
I have a bumper sticker on my WRX that says ‘Mama on board‘ with a picture of a woman with a big belly indicating that the woman is pregnant.
The roads leading to my mansion have lots of those speed bumps (they built them there probably because of my ‘flying finishes’ on my way home). For the uninformed, speed bumps or speed breakers are to make you slow your vehicle down.
I was fetching my wife home after lunch today and was driving thru the speed bumps slowly. Then came another vehicle which was tailgating me closely. He could have overtaken me but he chose to tailgate and pressed his horn urging me to go faster.
Come on lah, don’t know how to read ar? Pregnant lady on board leh. I guess he did what he did because he wanted revenge. His brains were damaged when his mother was carrying him in her womb while his father was driving thru speed bumps without slowing down. Niamah lu!!!
* For the uninformed again, the Subaru WRX eats lots of other high performance cars for breakfasts, lunches and some say dinners*
